Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

Jeff offers complete HOME and CONDO VISUAL INSPECTIONS and NEW HOME inspections (Jeff is a certified General Contractor – GC); WIND MITIGATION and 4-POINT inspections; MOLD and RADON environmental testing- referred to others.

WHAT DO THE REPORTS LOOK LIKE?

All inspections are detailed digital files that contain color photos of the property being inspected. You can open them on your computer to print them out if you desire. No special software is necessary.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY REPORTS?

You will automatically be emailed a copy of your report. If you wish to receive a printed copy, please let us know at the time of the inspection, and we will see that you receive one.

DO I NEED TO BE AT THE INSPECTION?

You don’t need to be present, but you are more than welcome to attend.
The report you will receive includes digital pictures and a detailed explanation of each area of concern. Of course, you can always call me for more information.

HOW SOON CAN I HAVE MY REPORT?

The normal turnaround time is 24 hours, sometimes sooner. It depends on what is found in the actual inspection and the number of photos taken to illustrate areas of concern.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DO AN INSPECTION?

Most inspectors would say it depends on the square footage of your home, but Jeff takes his time and does a thorough job, no matter what size of your home or condo. It should take anywhere from 1-2 hours for a 2,000-square-foot home to more than 3 hours for a larger home.

DO YOU INSPECT NEW CONSTRUCTION?

Yes. As the home is being built, we inspect various stages of
construction. In that way, the inspections will save you costly time delays and your builder money. We catch problems before they happen and can point out potential issues that can be dealt with ASAP. Most quality builders are happy to have home inspectors on the job. We work hard to schedule our inspections so that we are not holding up the next stage of construction. We also provide the builder with a valuable punch-out list so that the homeowner receives a finished product they can be proud of. This saves the builder from having to go back to the home after closing to address minor issues that should have been caught before the house is completely finished. As a General Contractor, this is Jeff’s area of expertise. Click here for a price on new construction inspections.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS?

Many times the quote is based on your square footage, or you can call for a customized quote. You may wish to add on special insurance inspections such as wind mitigation or 4-point inspections required by some companies to lower your homeowner’s insurance.
